News from the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy Eastern Shore Land Conservancy Opens Cambridge OfficeNonprofit Hopes Regional Presence in Dorchester will Aid in Land Protection Efforts Queenstown, Maryland March 29, 2007 - Eastern Shore Land Conservancy (ESLC) a private, nonprofit land conservation organization dedicated to the preservation of farmland and habitat on the Eastern Shore announced the opening of its first regional office in downtown Cambridge. Opened this month, the new office, located at 601 Locust Street, will help staff focus on regional land protection efforts on the Lower Shore. "We are so grateful to our partners and dedicated members for helping us get to this point," said Rob Etgen, ESLC Executive Director. "Having an office right in the middle of beautiful downtown Cambridge is a tremendous asset as we move forward in our efforts to help our counties, town and municipal government work together to save the Eastern Shore way of life that we all love." Two full-time staff will work out of the new office, including land protection specialist Jared Parks and land use planner John Seward, who will focus attention on working with Dorchester, Talbot and Caroline counties. Plans to open a Northern office in Kent County will likely be implemented later this year. The remaining members of ESLC's 11-person staff will continue to be housed in ESLC's Queenstown headquarters. Open House Pictures (click on photo to enlarge) |
