What could be better than joining together with friends, old and new, on one of the most beautiful properties in Kent County? Now more than ever, it is essential to protect the land that gives us so much – food, beauty, community, and a refuge from the stresses of uncertain times. Now is the time to prioritize local agriculture, outdoor recreation, and resilient communities.

We are grateful to Doug and Karen Gardner for sharing Bachelor’s Hope, their beautiful farm in Chestertown, Maryland, for this year’s Party to Preserve. Bachelor’s Hope, permanently preserved in 1997, is situated on the Quaker Neck peninsula and its 164 acres provide opportunities for farming, hunting, and water access. We are also grateful to Joe and Marianne Hickman for chairing the Party to Preserve Committee, as well as our wonderful team of volunteers! We hope that you can join us!
