Formed in 2017, the Delmarva Restoration and Conservation Network (DRCN) is a landscape-scale collaborative of local, state and federal government agencies and NGOs working with private and public landowners and local governments to identify the most important places to protect and restore across the Delmarva peninsula. DRCN works to obtain support and funding for numerous voluntary restoration and conservation projects. ESLC’s President Steve Kline currently serves as the DRCN Chair, and ESLC’s David Satterfield and Owen Bailey serve as Chairs of the Land Protection Committee and Town/Urban Committee.
Come network with other conservationists and restoration professionals across the Eastern Shore at the DRCN’s annual meeting on August 20th at Salisbury University, Perdue Hall, 156. Check-in will begin at 9:00 am. Meeting followed by a networking happy hour (3:00 – 4:00pm) sponsored by the Salisbury University Henson School of Science and Technology and Department of Environmental Studies. Tickets are $20 per person to cover the cost of lunch and coffee.
During this year’s meeting, members will participate in a “Visioning and Strategy Session” to refine the DRCN’s mission, vision, and shared priorities. This session is a critical step in the ongoing strategic planning process and will aid in the development of a 3-year Common Agenda to guide DRCN’s course into the future.
