How did you come to work for ESLC?

I came to ESLC about two years ago and have loved every minute of it! Before that, I was working as a Special Assistant to Comptroller Peter Franchot, where I was able to see so many parts of our beautiful state and meet some wonderful people. When I had an opportunity to return to my fundraising roots, work five minutes from home and help to preserve our land – who would say no to that? Prior to working for the Comptroller’s Office, I worked in development at Chesapeake College and Washington College.

What is your favorite thing about ESLC?

Everyone says it, but it’s the people. I love working with people who truly believe in what we do. I hope that when you talk with our staff or hear them speak, you recognize their passion for conserving land on the Eastern Shore. And it’s not just the staff – our board members and donors have that same enthusiasm. One of the best parts of my job is getting to know people and organizations that support our mission. I’m always so interested to hear why ESLC is important to them.

What is your favorite thing about the Eastern Shore?

First off, it’s a beautiful place to live. I grew up in Towson and then went to Washington College. That’s when I knew that I would live on the Eastern Shore. I love the small towns and the opportunity to get to know diverse groups of people. It’s also a great place to raise a family. My three kids are adults now (so they say!) but it was always reassuring to know that everyone knew who they were and what they were doing – well, reassuring for me, at least!

If you were given a million dollars, what would you do with it?

I would give a big chunk of it to ESLC – did you expect another answer? I would also support other organizations in our community and do some nice things for my family. And spoil my granddaughter.
