Buy Local Challenge: Cookin’ with Carol
Why is it important to buy/eat locally grown foods? Most of us know the answers to this question, but for those that don’t, let’s review the basics:
- Buying local is good for you, good for the local economy, and good for the planet!
- Buying from local farms helps you get products that are fresher, and have traveled much shorter distances overall from farm to fork.
- When you buy local you are supporting independent family farms which helps strengthen the (local) economy.
